Research on better sleep

In collaboration with the magazine GezondNU, research was conducted among 89 of their readers on the effects of ‘Sleeping Differently’. Sleeping with a body pillow combined with a Hi4 Pillow was compared after 30 days with their usual sleeping habits. 80 readers met the conditions, such as returning the questionnaires on time.

Hi4 pillow and body pillow

From this study proved:

  • DaThis way of sleeping leads to a significant reduction in headaches, neck pain, and back pain, and to better sleep.
  • 65% of participants reported improved sleep and 58% felt better rested.

Explanation of sleep improvement

The explanation cannot be definitively linked to one cause. Several effects were found in this study that can influence sleep:

1. Lying comfort

For 60% of participants, lying comfort improved, for 4% it worsened. If you lie more comfortably, this could improve sleep quality.

2. Waking up at night

51% of participants woke up less often at night, 10% more often. The less often you wake up, the better the sleep could be.

3. Pain

Participants reported a decrease in the number of days with headaches (on average -39%), neck pain (-67%), and back pain (-25%). Additionally, the severity of pain decreased on average by 47% among all participants and increased for 7%.

The most likely explanation for the better sleep quality through ‘Sleeping Differently’ is that people wake up less often due to pain. Sleep is less interrupted. Additionally, higher comfort from the body pillow and Hi4 head pillow probably also plays a role.

Improve your sleeping posture with the Sleep Better Set

This is how to sleep well

The combination of both pillows works better than each individually. The body pillow ensures a better sleeping posture, the Hi4 pillow provides better support. If you only sleep with a Hi4 pillow but lie on it incorrectly, it will not work optimally.
